#3 Vet in March, Cambridgeshire
Amical Veterinary Centre is an RCVS Practice Standards Scheme–accredited practice with a purpose-built, modern clinic and modern diagnostic equipment stated on its website. It is also listed as a veterinary nurse training facility and as providing emergency veterinary services (24/7 or extended hours).
From the latest reviews available to us, owners describe routine care such as vaccination/injection visits, check-ups, nail clipping, and neutering (“the snip”)—including for rabbits. Reviewers also mention X‑rays (one serious complaint alleges an inadequate X‑ray contributed to a dog’s death). A repeated negative theme is a payment/insurance policy change under new management, with some owners saying they are now expected to pay upfront even when insured.

I’ve been with Amical vets for many years and I’ve had some really good Advice from MR Jowly who’s now retired and the new vets are very nice too but the reason I changed this practice is under the new management they expect you to pay the full amount upfront even if you are fully ensured like me, in the past they always asked if the animal is insured then they took payment from the insurance, but not now they say they will claim it all back which I didn’t like I’m with pet plan and my new vets, bill pet plan over the £500 treatments which Amical do not.

Highly recommend - we needed to visit Amical Vets whilst on holiday in the area with our dog. Lovely friendly, helpful staff from booking right through to the appointment with the vet. Thank you for making everything hassle free.

** when reading the reviews please remember they were recently taken over ** Since being taken over their service has become horrible. Parking lot is full of building contractors with little space for actual customers. I reported this twice and was told we are not responsible for your driving. Even with insurance you are expected to pay for EVERYTHING yourself even if they are submitted insurance claims. This includes prescriptions that they don't tell you the cost of before picking up. Today I found out they called the police on me after I left and we agreed on a resolution. Guess they don't like people telling them they are wrong or posting bad reviews. Find a vets that doesn't treat you like a cash cow but instead cares for your pets. It's obviously not this one.
