My recent visit to Cromwell Vets in St Ives was to introduce Pickle, our new rescue kitten, and join the Cromwell community for his second vaccination, with another jab and a microchip to come in 4 weeks. He was thoroughly examined by the vet who had thought about the best plan of action going forward for Pickle in terms of his treatment and neutering etc.

They ignored my kitten's medical records and booked an apppointment knowing they didn't have the correct medicine for him. I registered my kitten including details of his vacinations. When we went into the area for his vacination I was informed that the practice didn't use the same medicine that had been used for his first jab. If I wanted I could start a new course of treatment which required an additional visit and injection which I don't want to put my cat through. On a less note, it would also have doubled the cost of his vacinations. It's also worth noting that the I arrived on time for the appointment as was kept waiting 10 minutes past the appointment time. We were in a so called cat only area - next to it was a stressed dog that, understandably, was being vocal and making a lot of whinning sounds. Being there was very stressful for my kitten and unneccessary as we were there at the allotted time and they made us wait.

I’ve always found the Cromwell branch in St Ives and Huntingdon very welcoming, and the vets really listen to my Cat’s needs. They give detailed advice and clearly explain how to administer any medication so I can do it correctly. I always feel well informed about how to care for my cats at home and what steps to take if the problem persists. For their prompt, caring service and the way they address my concerns, I highly recommend them.
